Are These Two Going to Prom?

It's a match so made in heaven, they made it all the way to the final 2 on American Idol. But even though Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson aren't officially dating, despite their undeniable chemistry, they'll still try to attend prom together. And we're not talking about the cheesy pre-taped segment at the beginning the first half of American Idol's finale that showed the two finalists making nice at a faux "prom" before giving one another competitive side-eyes. (Gotta love how much Caleb commits to these segments.) No, we're talking about the real, actual prom that Jena told cameras she asked Caleb to weeks back. But are Jena and Caleb actually going to prom? Short answer: Maybe.

According to Zap2It, it will be tough for the finalists to put aside all other commitments — rehearsing for the press tour, the actual tour, and attempting to, you know, become a real, actual pop artist — but Jena and Caleb confirmed they are actually still trying to get to the former's high school celebration. Said the songstress:

I think we're working on it ... Especially with me going to graduate — I think I do get to go walk with my class, which is really exciting for me, but then I think we also get to go to prom.

As for Caleb's feelings on the matter? The competition hardly brews any bad blood between the two, even if he's worried about how Farmington Hills would respond to him.

[Jena's classmates] are going to sit there and be like who is this asshole? We haven't really talked about it because we haven't had time.

Certainly, Jena's hometown is certainly hoping the contestant gets pretty in pink for her high school occasion. And she's lucky to have a date like Caleb — we already know he's a romantic, despite what he says.
