Is This The End of Dolce & Gabbana Forever?

by Michelle King

Well, it looks like the worst summer of Dolce & Gabbana's life is only the tip of the iceberg. We reported yesterday that the design house's status and quality of work would likely power them through jail time and serious fines they're facing for tax fashion, but now it's clear that might not be enough. According to the Telegraph, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are now threatening to close their label if the guilty verdict on their tax evasion case is not overturned.

"We will close," said Dolce. "What do you want us to do? We will close. We will not be able to deal with it. It's impossible."

"We are not going to give in to being crucified like thieves, because we are not," added Gabbana. "How could we accept being branded tax evaders? We are good people, we live in Italy and we pay taxes in Italy."

To lose such an iconic and innovative brand would change the fashion industry forever. The brand is known for their eclectic, avant-garde designs, and it would be a shame to lose their vision.
