Benedict Cumberbatch Officiates a Wedding; What Other Celebrities Could Marry You?
This past weekend, Benedict Cumberbatch served as officiant at a gay wedding of his two friends on the Spanish isle of Ibiza. While we would all love for the Sherlock sleuth to marry us, he's not the only celebrity officially registered as an officiant. Here is a guide to some celebrities who could totally marry you... err, to another person, of course.
Bill Clinton
The former POTUS married Anthony Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin. The cheating scandal jokes basically write themselves...
Emma Stone
The Crazy Stupid Love actress played cupid when she introduced her publicist to her Zombieland director, Ruben Fleischer. The pair was so grateful that they asked her to officiate their wedding.
MC Hammer
The "U Can't Touch This" singer married actor Corey Feldman and second wife Susie Sprague. Feldman and MC Hammer were co-contestants on the VH1 series The Surreal Life, and it doesn't get more surreal than MC Hammer officiating your wedding.
Jeff Probst
The Survivor host officiated the wedding of his longtime friend The Office star Jenna Fischer to her hubby Lee Kirk. We wonder if he ended that ceremony with "the tribe has spoken."
Conan O'Brien
O'Brien pronounced his two friends "husband and husband" in an on-air wedding ceremony back in 2011. So they basically had the best wedding story ever.
Fran Drescher
Drescher is more than just The Nanny — the actress married a gay couple in March 2012 after they won her officiating services via a contest on her Facebook page.
Victor Garber
The former Deception star officiated the ceremony of his Alias co-star Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck — officially uniting Bennifer once and for all.
Lady Gaga
Gaga is a gay marriage rights activist, so it's not surprising that she would want the ability to officiate a wedding herself. She got ordained in order to marry her friend and her friend's partner. She also is considering marrying fans during her concerts, to which we say sign us up.
Jason Segel
Weird but true. Apparently a couple whose wedding minister had dropped out of the ceremony saw Jason Segel at a West Hollywood bar and asked if he would officiate the ceremony, which he did... on The Tonight Show.
Blake Shelton
The Voice judge will be officiating his pal Kelly Clarkson's wedding later this year. Seems like the perfect match for the two country singers!
