Andi Isn't the First Reality Star to Love "Stop"

The most recent Bachelor, Juan Pablo Galavis, will probably go down in history as one of the series' most hated men, but there is one thing that the current Bachelorette seems to have learned from him—the importance of a catchphrase. Throughout all of Juan Pablo's season, he told women "eet's okay" when it wasn't, and now Andi Dorfman can't stop saying "stop," even when the other person isn't really doing anything. Even though both of these are probably accidental, they're still catchphrases, and for reality TV buffs, Andi's might've sounded a little familiar. Anyone else remember Sammi Sweetheart?

Throughout her time on MTV's Jersey Shore, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola spent most of her time alternately hooking up and fighting with fellow castmember Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. During many of those fights, Ronnie did and said things that Sammi did not like and so she told him to stop. Except, she didn't exactly say "stop," it was more "staaahhhhhp," thanks to her Jersey accent that I can mock because I may or may not have the same one.

Almost immediately, a meme was formed, and this was in 2009 before everything that ever happened started becoming a meme. In case you missed out on the masterpiece that was Jersey Shore or have forgotten Sammi's angelic voice, here's a YouTube ode to "staaaahp."

With The Bachelorette's Andi, it's not an accent or even certain cadence that makes her "stop" notable, it's just the sheer amount. "Stop" might be her most used word so far this season. If you don't believe me, watch the supercut that Jimmy Kimmel put together.

What is it that makes these two very different women love the word stop? Andi is from Georgia so it can't be a Jersey thing, and there have been plenty of other Bachelorettes and Jersey Shore roommates who never use it. Maybe it's related to spelling your name with an "i" at the end. If Sammi went by Sammy or Andi by Andy would they still have become icons of the word stop?

We'll never know.
