Why Maisie Williams is a True "Star of Tomorrow"

by Jenny Jaffe

In a show with a cast as big as that of Game of Thrones, you'd think it would be pretty hard to stand out. Not for Maisie Williams, though. The 17-year-old has become one of the hit show's breakout stars, and her character, vengeful 13-year-old swordswoman Arya Stark, is a fan favorite. It's clear she's an actress to watch, so it's no surprise that Maisie Williams was named to the just-released "UK Stars of Tomorrow List".

The list, put out annually by the UK entertainment industry blog Screen Daily, predicts which young artists we'll be seeing a lot of in the years to come, and so far, their track record is pretty impressive. Some of the Stars of tomorrow who have made the list in previous years include Game of Thrones co-stars Natalie Dormer and Emilia Clarke, along with celebs like Matt Smith, Michelle Dockery, Emily Blunt, Robert Pattinson, Carey Mulligan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, Andrew Garfield, and Sam Claffin, just to name a few.

Besides her superb portrayal of the biggest badass of all time on Game of Thrones, Williams seems really cool and down-to-earth, the kind of girl you'd want to be BFFs with, even if her stage combat training means you wouldn't want to mess with her. There's never enough Arya on the show, so we're hoping there's at least enough Maisie in films and on TV in years to come! Congrats, girl, this is well deserved!
