A 'Bachelorette' Secret Wedding!

by Alanna Bennett

Have you ever showed up for a party that was not a wedding only for the evening to take some surprise turns into matrimony? It seems rare, but it happens. In fact, that's what Bachelorette alum Emily Maynard did to guests of her engagement party Saturday.

Maynard, who starred in The Bachelorette's eighth season, pulled the romantic shocker with fiance (now husband) Tyler Johnson, who she married June 7. According to Us Weekly guests showed up at a restaurant bearing gifts for the engaged couple.

The couple met at church before her turn as an ABC reality star in 2012, and got together after her Bachelorette engagement to Jef Holm was called off. Maynard's been engaged three times previously: First to Ricky Hendrick, who tragically died in a plane crash and with whom she has an 8-year-old daughter named Ricky; then to Brad Womack, whom she was paired with on The Bachelor, and then to Holm, whom she was paired with on The Bachelorette.

This is Maynard's first marriage, though, and we wish them all our hearty congratulations and the best of luck — including little Ricky, who seems to be a big fan of her new step-dad. As Maynard told Us:

He proposed to me at home and gave both Ricki and me rings. It was so sweet! Ricky loves him more than she likes me!

And as she told People :

It's just as much her day as it is mine because it's a big change for her. She just adores Tyler and he is so good with her. He loves her as if she was his own daughter. It's been so great to see their relationship grow.

And hey, they look pretty damn happy:
