Bryan Singer May Lose 'X-Men: Apocalypse' — REPORT

Will X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer lose the chance to helm the next installment of his cinematic mutant world? According to Radar Online and thanks to the many sex abuse allegations he is currently battling, he just might. But apparently it has more to do with money than whether or not he, you know, actually had sexual relations with minors.

Though speculative at best, the report states that Singer has been in and out of meetings with executives over at 20th Century Fox over the prospect. Though it would seem logical that the powers-that-be over there would have concerns over what would happen were the allegations to be verified as true, that isn't their biggest issue. It seems they're worried more about whether or not his involvement in the trial will cut away from production time and cost them more money. Ain't capitalism grand?

According to an unnamed source, 20th Century Fox doesn't "really care whether he's innocent or guilty — they're only concerned with the bottom line, which is giving him another $250 to $350 million to make Apocalypse." Charming!

So far the talks have been preliminary but largely unproductive, the elusive source explained "There have been talks about who else he'd let direct it, with him producing, but those led to heated arguments and walk outs."

Apparently Singer himself doesn't have to worry, financially speaking, too much either way: regardless of whether or not they boot him from the sequel, the deal was already in place months ago for him to take on Apocalypse and going back on that would in turn cost Fox more money.
