The 'Liars' Have A Lot of Drama Ahead

For everyone out there who's too obsessed with Pretty Little Liars to even imagine it ending without getting emotional, I have good news. For all other fans, this news could go pretty much either way. ABC Family renewed Pretty Little Liars for two more seasons, which means you won't have to say goodbye to Hanna, Aria, Spencer, and Emily for a while, but you probably also won't be meeting the real "A" any time soon. So sure, go ahead and rejoice over spending at least two more seasons with the liars, but just keep in mind that the longer the show lasts, the longer it needs to sustain its biggest mysteries.

In the days leading up to the June 10 premiere of Season 5, we've learned a lot about what to expect in the coming episodes. We now know Ezra's fate after being shot during the fourth season finale and one of the show's producers that we'll find out what Melissa Hastings whispered to her father before the fifth season ends. That means during this coming season, we'll learn who killed the girl in Alison's grave and hear who Ezra believes "A" really is.

But with this two-year renewal comes the increased likelihood that "A" will remain a mystery. Ezra thinks he knows who it really is, but if he turns out to be right, then what? What happens for the next two years? PLL would lose its central mystery, one of the series' few constants.

A lot of mysteries may be unraveled in Season 5, but expect others to stay just as tightly wrapped and even more to form. On Pretty Little Liars, two seasons require at least 10 mysteries, and that means the liars have a lot of drama ahead.
