MOST SPOILED TEEN EVER?

Lots of teenagers dream of being let loose in a mall with their parent’s credit card. But Lauren Walsh, a 15-year-old from the U.K., knows what that feels like firsthand. In fact, her mom, Jackie, actually works THREE jobs — all to fund Lauren’s $1000 per month shopping habit, the Daily Mail reports. Say what? There is something seriously wrong with this picture.

Lauren openly admits to being spoiled rotten by her mother, who primarily works as a caregiver, but was forced to take up two other jobs (including a minimum wage cleaning gig) to pay for her daughter’s expensive taste. “I am soft with the girls,” Jackie, who also has a younger daughter named Rachel, told the Daily Mail. “I know that I'm soft and even my friends will say: ‘Say no to them Jackie!’ but I can't.” Um...WHY NOT?! Doesn’t this lady know that’s what parenthood is?

Jackie says that the main reason for indulging her daughter’s habit is that Lauren acts very differently while they’re shopping together. "She’s so full of energy and we have a good time and laugh and joke…It gives her a lift, I think, for that short while,” she said. Right…’cause that totally sounds like a healthy coping mechanism.

Meanwhile, Lauren says she knows her mom is “a pushover” and will buy her whatever she wants, even though she doesn’t end up wearing most of the items her mom purchases for her.

The two are now appearing in a Channel 5 special entitled The 12 Year Old Shopaholic and Other Big Spending Kids.

I don’t even know what to make of this. I know that the way people spend their money is their business and that most parents like to spoil their kids to a certain extent, but this is a whole other level of ridiculous. What kind of life lessons does this mom think she’s passing on to her daughter? Do nothing and get rewarded? Material possessions will make you happy? She seems to already be on the fast track to a shopping addiction.

Regardless, this girl is going to be in for a hell of a shock when she enters the “real world” and has to pay her own bills…if she ever does, that is!
