She's Joining 'The Nest!'

by Mallory Schlossberg

There is good news, and then there is Maya Rudolph news. And then, there is Maya Rudolph, Tina, Fey, and Amy Poehler news, which supersedes all sorts of news that there is. Fortunately for the universe, that's exactly the kind of news we have right now, as Maya Rudolph will join Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in The Nest . Now is the moment when you erase all of your plans for Dec. 18, 2015 to see this movie, which, to make things even more exciting, will be directed by Pitch Perfect's Jason Moore. So to clarify: don't call me on Dec. 18 next year.

Rudolph will play a childhood friend of Fey and Poehler, who play sisters that return home to clean out their old house so their parents can sell it. The decide to throw one final crazy party, which turns out to be a form of catharsis for these grown-ups.

The movie, which will be written by SNL alumnus Paula Pell, is shaping up to be a Saturday Night Live reunion in the best way possible, particularly because it's reuniting some of our favorite female comediennes. Consider this Hollywood's Christmas/Hanukkah/secular atheist seasonal gift to you next year.
