Speidi's Back and They've Actually Changed

by Nicole Pomarico

It's been a long time since we've seen Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag grace our TV screens — wait, no, it actually hasn't been that long, if you cared enough to watch their E! special. It was only a few months ago that reality's gruesome twosome appeared on the special that gave us an update on their lives since The Hills. Or, at least, they called it a special — it looked to me more like two hours of Heidi and Spencer trying to apologize for their past misgivings ("MTV made me do it! I swear!") and grovelling at our feet in an attempt to get their short-lived fame back. Does it make me less intrigued by them, though? Absolutely not. In fact, I'm really looking forward to seeing Heidi and Spencer on Celebrity Wife Swap Tuesday night.

A lot has changed since we last saw Speidi, and it's shocking that they're still together. The marriage we never thought would last is going five years strong, and tonight, we get to see them switch lives with another couple in what Heidi's called the first chance that reality TV has ever given her to be "authentic."

But before we catch up with them tonight — and before we have to see poor four-time Olympian Amanda Beard subjected to a couple of weeks with Spencer Pratt as her husband — let's talk about where they are and what they're doing today. And before you ask, no, they still don't have kids, but Heidi seems excited about the prospect.

What's Heidi Up To?

It's unfortunate, but it's true: Heidi is still peddling her 2010 album, which totally bombed, on iTunes. Fortunately (for us and for her), it doesn't sound like she's trying to stay in the music industry. Instead, according to her Instagram, it looks like she's spending her days hanging out with her many pups. Not a bad life!

And in case you missed the memo, Heidi did eventually regret all those plastic surgeries she had in 2010, and in the fall of 2013, had her breasts reduced from a size F to a size D — and she's much happier today.

"I would never do it again and I never recommend it to anyone," Heidi told Access Hollywood in 2012. "I wasn't told, really, the repercussions and what would happen, emotionally and physically, and the pain I would be in. I was in shock."

As for Spencer? He's a College Grad!

Yes, it's true: Spencer has officially graduated college. The process took him a good 10 years, but he finally holds a degree in political science from the University of Southern California, which he earned in December 2013. He didn't do it alone, though — Spencer credits Heidi for his success. She helped him study for his classes by making flashcards and even going to class with him. Now that's dedication!

But is he actually doing anything with his political science degree? So far it doesn't look like it — but maybe he'll reveal some secret political ambitions on Wife Swap tonight. We can only dream.
