Hardy & Theron Look Hardcore In 'Mad Max'

by Alanna Bennett

Let's mark Charlize Theron down, alongside Natalie Portman during the V For Vendetta era, as another one of those women who looks so good with a shaved head she can trigger approximately a thousand more women — and probably some men, too — to have the thought "well hey, maybe I should..." This badass haircut comes from Theron and Tom Hardy's posing on the latest cover for Entertainment Weekly — the one that gives us our first glimpse into the pair's starring roles in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Fury Road stands to reboot the '80s Mad Max franchise originally led by Mel Gibson, and it's hard to argue against these two looking damn capable in all that jagged leather. Let it also be known that Theron's character is a commander whose name is Imperator Furiosa — kind of hard to get fiercer than that. Hardy's character's name is Max Rockatansky, which is cool but not nearly as cool as having the last name Furiosa.

Big action franchise reboots are a dime a dozen these days, so we don't really have all that many strong opinions on this one in particular. But here's what we do know: They look like badasses. That seems to be what they were going for.

Oh, and here's Nicholas Hoult looking hella torn up:
