Stories 'Glee' Should Wrap Up in its Final Seasons

The show was already running out of steam, and after one of its biggest stars died from a drug overdose, it's no wonder that creator Ryan Murphy said he only sees the show lasting two more seasons. But let's hope the show doesn't forget about the rest of the cast after its tragic loss -- there's still some conclusions we need to see before Glee says goodbye.

'Glee' on its Last Legs

The show was already running out of steam, and after one of its biggest stars died from a drug overdose, it's no wonder that creator Ryan Murphy said he only sees the show lasting two more seasons. But let's hope the show doesn't forget about the rest of the cast after its tragic loss -- there's still some conclusions we need to see before Glee says goodbye.

What Will Happen to Rachel?

Since Finn is gone from the show, the biggest question now is what's going to happen to the woman he was determined to marry. As far as Rachel's career goes, either way will be satisfying -- the show will probably heap success upon her, which she certainly deserves, but having her fail to fulfill her dreams (a la Mr. Shue) would be more realistic and give her more depth as a character. As far as romance goes, hopefully the show will take the more tasteful route and leave it open-ended. It will take both Rachel and Lea Michele some time to get over Finn and Monteith, and the show should let them.

Kurt and Blaine

Last season, Blaine seemed to be hurtling down the path towards some sort of weird teenage wedding with Kurt. Both characters have great chemistry and could give audiences the happy ending that they will miss with Rachel and Finn, but a teen wedding is not the way to do it (plus, Rachel and Finn practically did it already). Let's hope the show can contain itself and settle for Blaine moving into Kurt's glamorous apartment in Manhattan.

The Old Guard

Mercedes, Quinn, Santana, Brittany, Sam, Puck, Tina, Artie, Mike. Characters that the audience is no longer really invested in, especially since half of them are no longer regulars on the show, but still need some sort of conclusion. My only hopes are that Santana and Brittany get back together (if for nothing but the entertainment factor of those two hilarious characters together) and that Mercedes gets diva-famous.

The New Guard

Jake, Marley, Ryder, Unique, Kitty. Characters that the audience hasn't known long enough to get invested in, but who nonetheless were a big part of Glee's last season. The show will definitely have to figure out the predictable love triangle with Jake, Marley and Ryder, but other than that, there's definitely a lot more story arcs to still develop for these characters.

Will and Emma

The show has really run out of storylines for these two characters, which means there's only one thing left for these two: a baby. What would be better for the show, though, is focusing more on a redemption plot for Will, who lost out on his dreams and has never seemed to be all that interested in teaching history or Spanish.

Sue

Sue may be gone from McKinley High, but there's no way she'll stay away. She can't be the world's most frightening fitness instructor forever. But the question is, how will she return? Sue may claim she hates the kids, but I wouldn't be too surprised if she ended up McKinley High's new principal -- and a good principal, at that.
