Lena Made a Lovely Bridesmaid

Oh Lena Dunham, how I love thee. The actress and writer shared wedding weekend photos — relax, she was a bridesmaid, not the bride — on her Instagram, further solidifying our undying love for the Girls creator. Dunham and the bridal party wore sage-colored gowns from Reformation that made them resemble earthy nymph goddesses.

Of course Dunham stood out, thanks to her tattoos, but I am loving her milkmaid braids, which totally fit the dress. While she is often throttled by fashion critics, this was another example of her Lena-fying her look, adding her own flourishes to a prescribed uniform. And come on, you know she was really cute at this year's Met Ball.

Dunham shared photos of her pal, the lovely bride Isabel, with whom she has been friends for 28 years. She also laid a big ol' smooch on her other bestie, Audrey Gelman, whose stock has increased since splitting with trouble-plagued and uber creepy fashion photographer Terry Richardson.

What makes these photos so amaze is that any girl who has ever been in a bridal party can relate. The bride chooses the dresses, since it's her big day, and you often have to play nice and play along, even if you hate the frock you are wearing, since you've signed up for it by agreeing to stand next to and support your friend on the most important day of her life. Luckily for Dunham and the rest of the bridesmaids, the dress was flattering for all figures and shapes.

But I am not going to lie. I love how Dunham adds a little irreverence with her tattoos. It totally adds to her general awesomeness.

The wedding party was so pretty and the lush, green landscape added to that summer solstice vibe. Dunham shared details on the dress and the bride, posting: "For those asking, our bridesmaid dresses were from @reformation and I found them charming, breathable and stylish. We can thank the beautiful bride, Isabel Bramlette Halley, for her good taste." #Agreed.

Throwback. Baby got back. Back to the future. Back to basics. Any other back phrase. Dunham and her fellow bridesmaids posed and showed off the delicate criss-cross straps and bows. Such pretty gals in pretty dresses.

This is such a heartwarming bestie photo. Dunham and the bride shared an intimate moment, with Dunham posting: "Isabel and I met 28 years ago. Watching her take this step was a crazy honor." I seriously sense the warmth and respect between the ladies from this shot and I can't even see their eyes. It just radiates and emanates from within. I am going to hug my female BFF today because of this pic, taken by Laurie Simmons.

Dunham's smile makes this photo what it is. Plus, you can appreciate the cap sleeves on the dress, as well as the unusual and unique hue. Want to see more totally covetable bridesmaids frocks? The Erin Fetherston x Nordstrom dresses will make you want more of your betrothed friends to ask you to be in the bridal party so you can convince the bride to let you and the other bridesmaids wear these.

Dunham and Gelman, k-i-s-s-i-n-g at a w-e-d-d-i-n-g. Look at their noses smashed against one another. There's is such an innocent smooch and not as sapphic as you might think. Dunham's BF Jack Antonoff of fun. needn't worry that his girlfriend is rolling him for another woman. Clearly, Dunham's pals love her as much as her fans do.
