The ABCs Of Benedict Cumberbatch's Emotions

by Alanna Bennett

It's no secret that the marvels of Benedict Cumberbatch's face took the Internet by storm when Sherlock first premiered. He'd been acting for ages, but that was many people's first taste of the magic elasticity and utter emotionality and range on display in th general area of Cumberbatch's visage, and the hype hasn't really died down since. And so it is that Benedict Cumberbatch became something magical: A crossover star, if you will.

The Internet loved him, sure, but the Internet loves a lot of people that the rest of the world never hears of. But Cumberbatch didn't just captivate the Internet or the inhabitants of the British Isles — he captivated Hollywood. He did that, as we mentioned, with his ridiculous face. And so as we start out a new work week, what better way than to delve into the many wonder, mysteries, and cheekbones of that face? Why not go spelunking through all the things it feels, and all the way it feels those things?

Sometimes, all you really need when you're feeling a lot of things — or feeling nothing in particular, but maybe want to feel vicariously and through a professional feeler — all you really need is a guide. And so Benedict Cumberbatch is here to guide you, through the ABCs of his emotions. Here are some of the things he's felt.
