How Did These Two Meet?

Did you know Darth Vader has a thing for California girls? In the early 2000s, Anakin Skywalker took a trip to Newport Beach and fell in love with a popular high schooler named Summer Roberts... Alright, just kidding! Unfortunately, there was never a Star Wars: The O.C. crossover special. But Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen did start dating on set. The two met in 2007 while filming Jumper, a sci-fi movie about time travel where they played love interests. Bilson was Christensen's character's childhood crush, who he winds up with. I guess it was major foreshadowing. As the saying goes, a couple who time travels together, stays together, right? Fast forward seven years, their relationship is stronger than ever and they're expecting their first child!

The two got engaged in 2008, but took a break back in 2010. Reportedly, they called off their engagement because of problems with having a long-distance relationship. At the time, he was living in Canada while she was in L.A. Still, distance couldn't keep the two apart forever. Just like in their movie, they were able to go back in time and return to the way things were. Okay, well not literally, but they've stayed together ever since.

With a baby on the way, the two are super happy together, and in an interview with Health, Bilson gushed about her soon-to-be baby daddy,

He's so incredibly supportive and considerate. It's so basic — that should be there. Because these things are so much more important when you're older. This is my partner, my support, just there for me no matter what. And vice versa.

For those of you who never stopped shipping Bilson and Adam Brody, aka Summer and Seth, it's officially time to move on. After all, Brody is happily married to Blair Waldorf — I mean, Leighton Meester. And as for Bilson? It sounds like she and Christensen make a perfect pair.

In the spirit of time travel, let's take a trip back in time to imagine how this couple came to be.

Bilson was understandably upset about breaking up with Adam Brody.

So on her birthday, she wished to find a new love.

On set for Jumper, this guy caught her eye.

Of course she was slightly skeptical.

Darth Vader is a bit scary.

But she accepted when he asked her out on a date.

Once they got to the restaurant, he tossed back a few shots...

Hey, he was nervous.

And laid on the charm.

She was smitten.

Smitten with both her date and her delicious pasta.

As soon as she drove home, she couldn't contain her excitement.

She knew he was the one.

So a few dates later, she couldn't resist when he said, "Rachel, I am your boyfriend."

In his Darth Vader voice, of course.

And the rest is history.
