Will Gretchen & Slade's Wedding Be On TV?

by Kristie Rohwedder

If you miss Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley’s antics on Real Housewives of Orange County, 1) please welcome Chairgate into your heart and 2) you can catch the affianced couple on Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars. (Marriage Bootcamp, eh? Sorry to split hairs, but shouldn’t it be called Pre-Marriage Bootcamp? Thank you, thank you. Don't forget to tip your bartender.) But what's next for them? I doubt they're donezo with reality TV. Does that mean I think Rossi and Smiley will return to RHOC ? Eh, I'm not holding my breath.

Oo! What about a Rossi/Smiley wedding special? That seems like something those two would be down to do. Will the bridal party wear camera headbands, document the entire occasion, and send the footage to a TV network? That'd be wacky and fun!

Though I believe we can rule out spelunker-style camera headpieces, it does sound like a reality show camera crew is not out of the realm of possibility. Back in June, Wonderwall tweet-interviewed Rossi about her Marriage Bootcamp experience, and then asked the question many fans are wonderwalling (oops, I had to do it): Will the Rossi/Smiley wedding find its way onto the small screen?

Her answer:

That's a tough decision, we have been asked to do that but it's a super special day that u don't want to get ruined by cameras or editing. although my fans have voiced they would be disappointed if we didn't do it on camera because they have been supporting us for all these years and really want to see that happen ending for us. Which I completely get and appreciate

Hmph. Way to leave us hanging, Rossi.

When are they getting married anyway? In an interview with Hollywood Today Live, Rossi said they don't have a date set in stone, but they do "have a date in mind" and believe they've "found the perfect location." OH! I almost forgot: They also said they might have a baby before the wedding.

UH, WHAT?!?!?!?!?! WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

No, Rossi is not pregnant, but she could get pregnant. It's a possibility. I see. Just like me stopping myself from eating the rest of the ice cream in my freezer is a possibility. I could put the spoon down if I wanted. Got it.

Let's recap: IF a Rossi/Smiley wedding special happens, a baby might be there, too. Oh my god, what if there's a baby special and a wedding special? There could be TWO specials. And then what? I don't know. A Rossi/Smiley/baby reality show, perhaps? OH MY GOD THEY COULD BE ON TV FOR FOREVER.

Oops, I'm spiraling. I apologize.

Let's recap (for real this time): Rossi and Smiley are getting married, would like to have kids someday, and have yet to announce whether or not their wedding will be on TV.

(My bet: The wedding will be on TV and bacon vodka will be served at the reception.)
