Come Back, Alcide!

Last Sunday night’s episode of True Blood saw the shocking demise of the world’s hottest werewolf, Alcide Herveaux, who was tragically shot in the head by a member of Bon Temps’ Supernatural Haters League (or at least that’s what I’m going to start calling them). You remember these guys. They’re the idiotic townsfolk who believe all magical beings are evil and therefore need to be killed (hate you guys, by the way). So yeah… Alcide is really, really dead… or is he?

Obviously, it’s our natural instinct to resist such an ugly truth as this, so, to me, denial seems like the best course of action. I mean, this is a supernatural show after all, right? So anything is possible. (Just look at those guys over in The Vampire Diaries , coming back from the dead every other week). But unfortunately, it seems that won’t be the case for True Blood’s former resident werewolf. He's actually dead. And just to add further insult to injury, it seems that — unlike after Tara’s death — we can't even look forward to seeing him in any sort of dream, hallucination, or flashback capacity. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. No, this is officially the end of the road for Alcide and those picture perfect abs of his.

So how do we know any of this for sure? Bustle spoke with True Blood cast member Lauren Bowles (Holly), who was present on Joe Manganiello's last day of filming and as she put it, "Alcide is definitely dead." Plus, in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Joe Manganiello confirmed that he won’t be returning to True Blood in any way, shape, or form, given that he had to go promote his other projects Sabotage and La Bare. BOO.

Clearly, this is a difficult time for all of us and I’m truly sorry to be the one to deliver such downright depressing news to you. Remember back when we were young and ignorant and still holding out hope that Alcide would somehow return? Yeah, those were good times… ones that I will always cherish. But alas, what’s done is done and those cartons of ice cream I just bought aren’t going to eat themselves.

However, it’s not a total loss. If he had to be killed off, what better way to go than completely in the buff? We wouldn’t of had it any other way. Plus, we’ve still got plenty of things to be grateful for

Umm…what was I saying?

And, of course, we’ll always have this…

Gone but not forgotten. RIP Alicide. We miss you already.
