Harry Potter & Sirius Black (kinda) Together Again

by Rachel Semigran

Even though Daniel Radcliffe's done plenty in his post-Potter career to distance himself from forever being pigeonholed as the world's greatest wizard, it seems the franchise follows him everywhere. In the poster for the upcoming horror mystery Horns, Radcliffe is emblazoned on a newspaper that is eerily reminiscent of a once-disgraced Sirius Black on the cover of The Daily Prophet. Much like Sirius Black, Radcliffe's character in Horns also carries the weight of being wrongfully-accused of a most heinous crime. However, Horns is as far from Hogwarts as you can get.

Radcliffe stars as Ig Perrish, a tormented young man who is the suspected murderer of his girlfriend. Perrish wakes up one day with horns growing out of his forehead. The horns have the power to make people confess their sins and Perrish uses his newfound power to seek revenge on his girlfriend's real killer. The just-released teaser trailer shows Radcliffe embracing his much, much darker side. The US release date has yet to be set, but the UK release date will fittingly be on Halloween.

Though Perrish is "innocent" in Horns, the new trailer and poster tell us he's far from angelic. In a grim voice over in the trailer we hear, "No one is born evil. But sometimes, when you go through hell, the only way out is to walk deeper into the fire," and then we see a shot of Radcliffe sporting the dubious horns. I'm sorry, Volde-who?
