Hurricane Henriette Not Slowing Down Yet

by Gillian White

Hurricane Henriette is retaining its strength and continuing to move westward on Wednesday.

Winds have increased to about 85 miles per hour with a reach of 25 miles from the eye of the hurricane. While winds have increased a bit since yesterday, the hurricane isn't expected to gain much strength today. In fact, experts expect a westward turn and some weakening of the storm by Thursday.

Even after a day of travel, Henriette remains more than 1300 miles away from Hawaii.

There's been little change to Tropical Storm Gil, which is expected to weaken and dissipate before causing any serious damage.
