Queen Elizabeth Is A Bigger 'GOT' Fan Than You

Welp, looks like you're going to have to tackle Queen Elizabeth for those coveted Comic Con tickets because a certain elderly royal may just be a bigger Game of Thrones fan than you. That's right, y'all. You're in competition with the 88-year-old figurehead of the United Kingdom. Good luck winning that battle. If you had any suspicion as to why she's the most hip octogenarian around, not only did the royal visit the GoT set in Belfast last month and meet with some of the cast members, the Queen's Guard performed the Game of Thrones theme in front of Buckingham Palace.

Thee ever-serious and disciplined Guard performed the theme song and it was nothing short of delightful. Plus, I imagine it's a nice treat for the guards who are camped out and regimented into the same routine day after day. And there's the fact that they have to wear those funny hats that would be better used to sweep a chimney— I digress. It's just refreshing to see supposedly rigid and stoic government figures have some fun with their jobs once in awhile, and to do it in a way that can connect with so many different people, considering the fact that it's kind of hard to find anyone who doesn't like GOT.

Moral of the story: She's not like a regular queen, she's a cool queen.
