She's a Shoe Designer Now

by Erin Mayer

Love or hate Olivia Palermo, you've gotta admit the woman has style. She might not be your favorite co-worker, but she has the right idea when it comes to getting dressed. That's why the news that Palermo will collaborate with Aquazura on a shoe line is truly exciting. Now we can have a bit of Palermo in our closets without, you know, ever having to speak to her.

According to WWD the six-piece capsule collection will launch in September at 12 high-end retailers "including Lane Crawford, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tsum and Holt Renfrew. Net-a-porter has the online exclusive." Two sketches of the shoes have begun circulating online and they are FAB. There's a slick over-the-knee boot and gorgeous jeweled sandal (supposedly inspired by Palermo's own vintage necklace), both of which are okay if you like looking like a Milanese model. Vogue reports that the as-yet-unseen items will be "metallic leather sandals; lace-up gladiator sandals; suede and snake flats; and a suede bootie."

Palermo is a huge fan of Aquazzura, and therefore an excellent choice to design for the brand. Aquazura designer Edgardo Osorio told WWD, "Olivia basically has been our unofficial ambassador. She’s always wearing the shoes. We’re friends and we were talking more than a year ago about a small capsule that would be Olivia’s eye and aesthetic but with the Aquazzura style." True style unfortunately doesn't come cheap, as the range will cost between $600 and $1,625. Start saving that pocket change — you're going to need it come September!
