She's Definitely Staged a Comeback

Does anyone else get the impression that it’s 2003 again? No, that doesn’t mean the return of trucker hats and sadly there won’t be any reboots of The O.C. Instead, I’m having flashbacks of body glitter, tiny dogs in purses, Juicy velour tracksuits, and a declaration of “that’s hot” from none other than 2000’s prominent “It Girl.” Because with recent headlines about her partying and her new single, it can’t just be me who sees that Paris Hilton is hitting hard for a comeback. Just recently, Paris Hilton hung out with Kendall and Kylie Jenner at a kick-ball game, despite the heiress’ alleged feud with their big sister Kim Kardashian.

Sure, Hilton and Kardashian grew up together and were apparently best friends, but that didn’t stop Hilton from making the now Mrs. Kanye West her assistant and closet cleaner during her heyday. It also hasn’t stopped the blonde from making very unfriendly comparison about Kardashian’s famous rump to being calling it "gross" and reminiscent of “cottage cheese inside a trash bag.” Ouch.

But maybe Hilton’s turning over a new leaf as an attempt to recapture her early 21st century relevance. It worked from about 2003 to 2006, so maybe those same steps could work again?

She’s Dropping a Single

Fine. I admit it. I downloaded “Stars Are Blind” using Napster on my desktop computer, but that song was just so catchy. Now, eight years since her debut album Paris, the 33-year-old heiress is coming out with her sophomore album and just debuted the music video for her first single “Come Alive.”

She’s Partying with Headlining Boy Toys

Leonardo DiCaprio and Nick Carter might’ve been more of Hilton’s game back in the early ‘00s, but she isn’t quite done with nabbing headline-worthy famous types. During this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Hilton reportedly played cougar to pop star Justin Bieber, giving him a lap dance before leaving the shindig with him and his entourage. But the purveyor of the celebrity sex tape scandal said that she isn’t “banging” the Canadian, according to TMZ.

She Returned to Her Natural Night Club Environment

Hilton’s lifestyle of endless partying and VIP glamour — also noteworthy for guests like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan’s way of, ahem, exposing themselves while getting out of cars pre-party — cemented Hilton’s status as an It Girl. And while she hasn’t technically dropped her raving roots, Hilton made a big splash last year when she took a spin as an international DJ at the Amnesia nightclub in Ibiza. Her nights were surprisingly successful because who else would know the party scene better than Hilton?

She’s Still Friends with Nicole Richie

Time and time again, I’ll look at Nicole Richie and just think, “Wow, she really transitioned out her Paris phase well.” Yes, I admit that I consider Richie’s less fashionable days while starring on The Simple Life a “Paris phase” (otherwise known as trash couture), so I was surprised when Richie admitted on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live that they’re still friends. What about Richie and Hilton's big friend break-up? Richie says it’s all in the past.

She Still Looks like Early 2000’s Paris Hilton

Basically, like a Barbie doll. The highlights, the heavy lashes and eyeliner, the hair, the pastel. Hilton has a look that screams early 2000’s to me, and yup, she’s still doing it.
