You Wish You Were At J. Lo's Birthday Party

It's not that I expect to be invited to star-studded and very exclusive Hampton's bashes, but it would have been very nice to attend Jennifer Lopez's birthday party. Next time, J. Lo. Next time. If you didn't catch any of the Instagram or Twitter pictures from this hallowed event (and I'm not sure how, because there were tons), you should know that Lopez has a hell of a lot of friends. Very famous, ultra cool friends, who seem to have been more excited for the songstress and actress to turn 45 than she was herself. Can her life get any better? Probably not, but that's okay because the person who brought us The Wedding Planner should be honored in such an over-the-top way. Everyone knows The Wedding Planner was one of the last great rom-coms.

But back to the party! There was all night dancing, eating, and shmoozing as to be expected. And yeah, it was filled with celebs but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the pièce de résistance of the shindig which was the cake. And, it being J. Lo's birthday and all, you know it wasn't going to be some lousy sheet cake with buttercream flowers and chocolate frosting. No, Lopez's birthday cake was, err, interesting to say the least. If you define "interesting" as a life-sized cake Jennifer Lopez riding an even bigger cake lion. No, I'm not too sure what that has to do with a birthday, either. Then again, who am I to judge? Maybe I'm just jealous because I couldn't indulge in a piece. Aren't you?
