Jaime King Opened Up Big Time

In an unexpected show of solidarity to women who've struggled with fertility issues, Hart Of Dixie star and model Jaime King opened up about her five miscarriages, severe ectopic pregnancy, and other brutal trials in her path to having her son, James Knight Newman.

King posted her missive to Instagram Friday, writing:

For all the struggling women & mom's out there who think they are along — this is truth about conceiving my son and struggles after [sic]. 8 yrs of pain and undiagnosed PCOS & Endometriosis. 9 doctors until Dr. Randy Harris diagnosed me & saved my life from a severe ectopic, 5 miscarriages, 5 rounds of IVF, 26 IUI's, most with no outcome, 4½ years of trying to conceive, 26 hours of brutal labor, early delivery b/c of sudden preeclampsia, tearing and tearing after the stitches were in once I was home, milk supply issues, painful mastitis, uncontrollable crying while breast feeding, worked until the day before I [gave] birth and went back after 6 weeks after because I was afraid of letting others down.

King, who stars on Hart Of Dixie as Lemon Breeland, was only absent from five episodes of the show's third season despite giving birth to her first son in October. And it appears that time — and the time before it — was a rather rough one for King and her family. She hashtagged her post "#realtalkthatterrifiesus" and "#ihavetobebravetosupportothers," indicating how difficult it must have been to talk publicly about all this.

You can see by her instagram posts, at least, that the road to getting there might have been rough, but her baby is damn adorable:
