Why The Letter Is Probably From Nick

by Nicole Pomarico

Break out the ice cream, because it's officially the most stressful part of the summer: When we finally find out the outcome of Andi's season of The Bachelorette. In case you're a dirty cheater (like I am), you spoiled yourself on the winner long ago and are just waiting to find out how everything plays out, especially now that Andi has that suspicious letter in her possession. Monday night is going to be a total manicure-ruiner as Andi Dorfman decides whether she's going to spend the rest of her life with Nick Viall or Josh Murray.

Potential spoilers to follow.

Either guy would definitely make an awesome husband, but obviously, our girl has a better idea of who's more suited to her and her lifestyle. And to up the ante a bit? At the end of last week's Men Tell All special, host Chris Harrison very ominously handed over a handwritten letter from an unknown source... and the logical opinion — for those of us who are spoiled and choose to believe that intel, anyway — is that the letter came from Nick.

Should Nick lose on Monday night and end up Andi-less, it would make total sense that Nick wrote her a heartfelt letter to explain how he feels — and maybe even try to convince her to change her mind. After all, if the super sneaky video of Nick talking on the phone on a plane that Bach spoiler guru Reality Steve revealed earlier this season is to be believed, he's pretty pissed that Andi decided to choose Josh. And, Reality Steve recently added, it's possible Nick said he was planning to write a letter during a part of the phone call that we didn't get to hear.

Also, if there's any convincing going on in this letter, it's not coming from Josh. All things considered, he seems pretty confident in his relationship with Andi and where it's headed, so why would he need to write her something? Nick, however, talks so much about how he and Andi are meant to be that I'm starting to wonder who he's trying to convince: Andi or himself? If Nick's the author, I think it's safe to assume that he's trying to get Andi to change her mind. Nick doesn't take losing lightly (per that video), and if he really does want to spend the rest of his life with this girl, I don't think he's going to let the seemingly final rose get in the way.

Let's not get too carried away, though — this letter will probably have exactly zero bearing on Andi's ultimate decision (and whether she sticks to it). As Reality Steve reminded us, Catherine Guidici's note to Sean Lowe turned out to be nothing, and it was just as overhyped. Chances are, we're trying to decode something that's totally not worth decoding. What if it's, like, a grocery list? Stranger things have happened on this show.

ABC, we only ask one thing of you: If you're going to seriously dramatize something that could be as simple as a sweet love note, please make sure you fill us in during the finale. I want to hear every word of that letter, even if it does end up to be as boring as I predict it will be.
