Chris Brown's Seizure Is Definitely Your Fault

by Lindsay Mannering

On Friday, we learned that Chris Brown had a seizure while in a Hollywood recording studio. First responders were called to Record Plant around 1 a.m. to tend to the ailing singer, but Brown evidently refused treatment, and refused to go to the hospital. Now, Brown's representative is shedding some light on Brown's side of the story.

The rep claims that Brown's seizure was due to “intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress”, which he claims was caused by the “continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and nonstop negativity.” ABC news clarifies that this was a seizure due to psychological stress, unlike an Epileptic seizure, which is caused by physical, but abnormal, charges in the brain.

Now, we don't want to cause Brown any more stress that might make him seize, but this statement is kind of whack, no? The rep's comments sound almost accusatory — is the "nonstop negativity" our fault? — as well as 100 percent passive aggressive.

Didn't Brown's mother (who, by the way, thinks her son is special angel sent from God) teach him what goes around comes around? If he wants the nonstop negativity to stop, he should, you know, stop doing negative things. Aside from beating then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, the volatile singer has been involved in a slew of antagonistic battles, highlights of which include his GMA meltdown, his hit-and-run case, his fight with fellow R&B singer Frank Ocean, and his entire Twitter presence.

Earlier this month, Brown hinted that he was retiring from music after his album X comes out, tweeting, "Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album." He's since deleted the tweet, but hey, if all this stress is getting to him, it might be best for him, as well as America, if he calls it quits.

Just, don't tell him we said that. Wouldn't want to upset the poor kid.
