I Fucking Love Science Comes To YouTube!

by Carrie Murphy

Remember the brouhaha earlier this year when people found out that the creator of the popular Facebook page "I Fucking Love Science" was OMG EWWWW a woman?!?! Well, that woman, Elise Andrew, has just started a YouTube channel, presumably to continue spreading her brand of insidious female science to the masses.

Although Elise Andrew has drawn some legitimate criticism for failing to properly cite her sources (admittedly, it takes TWO SECONDS to include where you got a picture or an infographic from, come on!) her page is still massively popular, with over six million likes on Facebook. In her first video, Andrew explains that the "I Fucking Love Science" YouTube channel will be "the best of the IFLS Facebook page in video format." She'll post videos on Fridays and is hoping fans will provide input as to what they'd like to see on the channel, including interviews and other content.

Andrew is well on her way to her own science-y, Internet-based empire, and I'm eager to see how she'll utilize YouTube. Her 55 second video was posted yesterday and already has more than 92K views, so I think she's definitely on the right track.
