Sad News For David Duchovny & Tea Leoni

by Loretta Donelan

There have long been a lot of rumors surrounding the marriage of David Duchovny and Téa Leoni, and now it's official: David Duchovny and Téa Leoni are getting a divorce. They've been married for 17 years, but apparently they've been separated for months. Though Leoni, 48, and Duchovny, 54, have been separated before, once in 2008 and once in 2011, it looks like its official now.

The Jurassic Park actress and the X-Files star married in 1997 after a whirlwind courtship. Their marriage drew lots of media attention after Duchovny's much-publicized announcement of his sex addiction and subsequent treatment in 2008.

The couple has two children, Kyd Miller, 12, and Madelaine West, 15. Leoni and Duchovny will share joint custody of the kids, with Leoni taking on primary responsibilities and Duchovny paying $8,000 in monthly child support.

Though the divorce was filed in June, the media has only just caught on to the split, a remarkable feat for a relationship that has been so widely publicized. TMZ has the reason for the divorce as an "irretrievable breakdown of the relationship."

Leoni will be receiving $40,000 a month from her ex in spousal support, and Duchovny, well, we know he has the support of his devoted fans. And a song. Let's not forget the song.
