This Real Housewife Better Be Coming Back

by Casey Rackham

The only thing worse than having a margarita without tequila would be like watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills without Brandi Glanville in it. It just doesn't make any sense. In my opinion, Brandi is Bravo's RHOBH. She might have a fair amount of enemies, and she might not know when to take a breather and keep her thoughts to herself, but she's the lively color that the show needs to stay entertaining and scandalous, and isn't that why people watch it in the first place? (I know that's why I watch it.)

However, with news that Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia were fired after just one season of the show, and that Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson will be taking their places, it means that Bravo is definitely not afraid to mix things up when it comes to cast members, which could be bad news for Brandi. Add on the fact that Brandi and Lisa Vanderpump ended Season 4 in a nasty feud, and that Lisa is returning for next season, would Brandi actually want to return for a season of potential fighting? Would she want to continue down a path that could end in more she-said-she-said battles?

Of course she would! According to Radar Online, Brandi will be returning for another season of Real Housewives . The thing is, as much as I love watching her, is it a positive thing for the show that she's coming back for Season 5? Let's take a look at some of the pros and cons of her return.

Pros:

Her drunk honesty

Brandi already says everything she's thinking, but when you add alcohol into the mix, things get seriously crazy (and hysterical).

Her sober honesty

Alcohol doesn't make Brandi the way she is — Brandi's just naturally full of truth-bombs.

She's great for comic relief

A dinner party has gotten too damn serious? We can always count on Brandi to break the tension.

She's finally able to stand up to Lisa

By the end of Season 4, Brandi had finally mustered up the courage to confront Lisa about her manipulative tendencies, and it was absolutely great to see. It was like the brave woman inside of her was finally able to come out to play. In a perfect world, Brandi and Lisa would mend their friendship, and it would become a more equal relationship.

Maybe we'll get to see Brandi's creative process behind her new line of wine

In case you missed it, Brandi is definitely launching a wine line, and, fingers crossed, it will be the most amazing thing ever. Because if there's anything Brandi knows, it's wine.

Cons

I don't want her feud with Adrienne Maloof to reappear

Since Adrienne is returning for a few episodes in Season 5, it's totally possible that the whole you-revealed-my-secrets thing could resurface. I thought we were done with that!

Sometimes she's too abrasive

Anyone else remember that time viewers most definitely created a petition to have Brandi removed from the show? They were not fans of her “jokes about racial stereotypes and child molestation” — who would be? — and thought it was time for her to get the boot. The thing is, it's totally true that some, er, most of her comments are out of line.

She shouldn't backtrack and give in to Lisa

Lisa used to be one of my favorite ladies on the show — mostly because of her accent and royal sass — but by the end of Season 4, I was most definitely on Brandi's side. Yes, it was sad to see Lisa bullied by everyone else, but it was nice to see Brandi finally stand up for herself and show that she's not afraid of Lisa's controlling ways. The worst thing that could happen would be Brandi succumbing to Lisa's powers, and returning to her position as a doting sidekick.

I can't hear anymore about Scheana

I love Scheana. Correction: I love Scheana when she's on Vanderpump Rules, not when she's on RHOBH. We get it — they're not the best of friends. So why does their "feud" keep on creeping onto the show season after season? It's boring.

In the end, I think the positives outweigh the negatives, and that Season 5 of RHOBH might just be Brandi's time to shine. Well, I hope it will be...
