His Family Was in a Bad Accident

An instagram just informed us that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's mother and cousin were car accident that was pretty terrible earlier this week. Their vehicle was hit head on by a drunk driver, but thankfully both women survived. Johnson is very close to his mother, often mentioning her to the press. In 2012, he bought her a Cadillac for Christmas.

In response to the accident, the Hercules star posted a picture of the wreck to his Instagram. In a moment of extreme thoughtfulness, he captioned it:

My mom & cousin @linafanene were struck head on by a drunk driver this week - they lived. First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them. But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days. Hug your own family tighter today and be grateful you can tell them you love them. #BearHugsAndGratitude #100PercentPreventable #ChoicesMatter

Though Johnson's mother Ata Maivia-Johnson and cousin Savelina Fanene are reportedly OK, there are currently few details about the crash outside of Johnson's post. Savalina, who goes by Lina and works for WWE, posted a goofy hospital picture with The Rock, and she looks great.
