How Many VMAs Has Taylor Swift Won?

You know you're kind of a big deal when there's an entire Wikipedia page dedicated to your awards and nominations. Taylor Swift is definitely a big deal. Surprisingly, however, of her whopping 226 award wins, Taylor Swift only has two VMAs. She has been nominated for four other MTV Video Music Awards, but still, this number seems awfully low considering Swift is our emotional Bible. (Or maybe just mine.)

The truth is, two VMAs may seem like nothing, but they were both kind of huge deals. When "You Belong With Me" won the award for Best Female Video in 2009, she became the first country singer to ever win a VMA. On top of that, she beat out Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" that year, which was one of the most memorable videos of the decade. Or, in Kanye West's opinion, "of all time." Yep, that was the year West uttered the famous phrase "I'mma let you finish" whilst crashing Swift's first VMA win. Epic.

Swift also took home the 2013 Best Female Video award for "I Knew You Were Trouble." Again, she was up against a historic video: Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop." Y'know, the one with all the twerking? Pretty impressive.

In conclusion, Swift may not have many VMAs to her name, but she has beat out videos that were certainly more attention-grabbing than hers. She's not up for one this year, but the next time she is, her nominees better smell trouble.
