Dave Skylark Asks The Hard-Hitting Qu-ass-tions

James Franco and Seth Rogen's assassination plot comedy The Interview won’t be in theaters until this December, but thanks to the 20-minute special that aired on MTV Sunday night, it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in August. In "Dave Skylark's Very Special VMA Special," talk show host/bozo extraordinaire David Skylark (Franco) shows off his power-clashing skills and leads some pre-VMA chats with a few of the nominated artists. Though the interviews are scripted, they still manage to be uncomfortable, entertaining nightmares. Ah, the power of commitment!

Franco and Rogen are joined by "interviewees" Iggy Azalea, Jason Derulo, and Nicki Minaj, plus funny folk Ben Schwartz, Timothy Simons, Nicole Byer, Alice Wetterlund, and Joe Mande.

A few highlights: Skylark badgers Jason Derulo incessantly to sing his name for the camera (in Skylark's defense, I would probably do the same thing TBH), asks Iggy Azalea about about Bloomin' Onions, and presents Nicki Minaj with no less than 75 thousand butt-themed inquiries.

I must admit that the "If your ass was a tree, what kind of tree would it be?" question is truly inspired. Barbara Walters must be beyond impressed. I think I just might borrow it. It'll be my go-to ice breaker question. I'm going to be a hit at parties!
