Why Did you Delete that 'Mean Girls' Pic, LiLo?

On Tuesday, we got the next best thing to an official Mean Girls reunion when Lindsay Lohan snapped a selfie with Tina Fey. But now, less than 24 hours later, Lindsay Lohan has deleted the picture from her Instagram without any explanation. It's pretty crushing to learn that just one day ago we could revel in Cady posing with Ms. Norbury, and now we have nothing.

Mean Girls fans don't ask for a lot. We just appreciate small references like the cast tweeting about wearing pink on Wednesdays or remembering that it's October 3rd. I mean, we'll even take a "so fetch" reference in the Kim Kardashian game. I just ask that we not be teased by being treated to such a wonderful selfie and then have it disappear.

Mean Girls is iconic and Cady posing with Ms. Norbury is as legendary as it gets. So why would Lohan indulge us one minute and snub us the next? She left up the picture she took with Daniel Franzese who played her friend Damien, so clearly she's not against the idea of a Mean Girls Instagram reunion

Since Lohan herself isn't offering up any reason behind her actions, I've decided to speculate for myself. After careful consideration here are seven reasons why Lohan might have taken that picture down.

SHE WANTED TO GIVE OTHER CAST MEMBERS A CHANCE

After Bustle declared the picture "The selfie to rule them all," Lohan might have felt guilty. No one else in the Mean Girls' cast could defeat her with a selfie reunion of their own. So Lohan decided to take hers down in the hopes that another Mean Girls' member could one day post their own selfie to rule them all.

IT DIDN'T GET ENOUGH LIKES

At the time Bustle's article was written, the screen shot documented that the pic had 40.3 K likes. In comparison, Lohan's selfie with Franzese collected 41.2 K likes. A picture of a coca cola bottle she posted that said "Linds" garnered 53.6 K likes. Perhaps Lohan was just disappointed in the effort and was worried that since it didn't get the attention her pictures normally do, she should take it down.

TINA FEY ASKED HER TO

Maybe Fey was like, "Come on, Lindsay, adding '#tinafey' is so dorky." So Lohan took it down to appease her without knowing that she was really just kidding.

REGINA GEORGE STRIKES AGAIN

No one is allowed to steal Regina's spotlight, so she hacked into Lohan's Instagram and removed the picture.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY ASKED HER TO

The picture was taken during an official Mean Girls' EW reunion shoot, so maybe the mag asked her to take it down until their exclusive shots ran.

LILO DIDN'T LIKE THE FILTER

Sometimes I'll post a picture and think the filter looks really good, but maybe it only looked that way because my brightness was accidentally turned all the way down or I was outside when I picked it. Perhaps Lohan saw the photo later and realized she didn't like the way it looked so she decided to delete it.

IT WAS AN ACCIDENT

Maybe her hand slipped and accidentally deleted it. If I'm capable of dropping my phone on my face and not learning that I shouldn't text in bed, then I'm sure LiLo could accidentally delete a picture. If that was the case, we forgive you Lindsay. But we demand you replace that picture with another Mean Girls reunion selfie ASAP!

And for now, because fortunately the Internet is forever, please enjoy this screen shot of the selfie to rule them all.
