Who Is Eileen Davidson? 'RHOBH' Season 5 Could Use Someone Like Her

When it's almost time for a new season of a Real Housewives franchise to begin, there's always speculation about who will and won't return for another season of fights, fits, and fun. With new characters entering and exiting dramatically, it makes you think of a soap opera, doesn't it? Then the newest cast member to reportedly join Real Housewives of Beverly Hills , Eileen Davidson, should have no trouble fitting in.

Davidson, along with her fellow soap star Lisa Rinna, is said to be joining the RHOBH cast for Season 5 of the reality show. Bravo has not made a formal announcement on the new cast, but Davidson did post that she was joining the show on her website. Surely, all of her practice in melodrama in her many starring roles on soap operas has prepared her for everything that's about to go down on RHOBH. Plus, there's always room for one more eccentric show biz personality on Bravo. Click through to find out everything Davidson will bring to the table once the new season of RHOBH begins.

She's a Soap Star

Davidson is most famous for her 30-plus-year career as a soap star. Her best-known roles include playing Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless and Kristen DiMera on Days or Our Lives. The antics on RHOBH should actually be pretty tame compared to what Davidson has experienced on her soaps.

She's an Emmy winner

Davidson recently won the 2014 Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” for her role as Kristen DiMera in Days of Our Lives. No lead actor from the soap had won an Emmy in 39 years. Davidson had been nominated twice before for her work on Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless.

She's Married with Children

RHOBH isn’t just about the main cast members; we love the significant others, children, and pets of the ladies just as much. Davidson has plenty of loved ones to bring along for the RHOBH ride, including her husband Vincent Van Patten, an actor and host of The World Poker Tour, and their three children. Here’s hoping legendary comedic actor Dick Van Patten, who is Davidson’s father-in-law, also makes an appearance on the show.

She's an Author

Davidson has penned four mystery booksDeath in Daytime, Dial Emmy for Murder, Diva Las Vegas, and Swingin’ in the Rain — that follow soap opera actress Alexis Peterson as she solves murder mysteries in Hollywood. Hopefully, none of the stories are based on personal experience.

She's Charitable

Over the years, Davidson has supported many charities, according to her official website, but some of her current favorites are Shane’s Inspiration, which helps children with disabilities, and No Kid Hungry, which combats child hunger in the U.S. We’ve seen many Housewives promote their charities in the past, and it wouldn’t be bad at all if Davidson joined them in doing so.

She Has Great skin, Apparently

Davidson has endorsed skin care lines, such as Nubrilliance and Prevage. Get ready to see some more product placement on RHOBH. Oh goodie.

She Surfs

Starring on soap operas may make Davidson seem like a diva, but she might actually not be that high maintenance. Davidson loves to hang 10, and doesn’t look half bad doing it either. We can only hope that she teaches her fellow Housewives how to surf. Could you imagine how hilarious it would be to see Lisa Vanderpump catching a wave?
