What's Next For 'T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle'?

by Paige Tutt

I hate to be the bearer of bad news — I really genuinely do, I swear — but it looks like T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle may not live to see another day. Now hold on a second, I already know what you're thinking, that this is the worst news you've heard all day, you're feeling sick, you want to call out of work and spend all day just binge-watching old episodes. Let me be the first to say, yeah, that sounds like a really fun idea, but you may not get exactly what I mean.

T.I. and Tiny have gone through some issues in their marriage, sure, and it's definitely going to affect the dynamics of the show, but that doesn't mean the show will be cancelled. It's fairly popular and the couple have a pretty large following, plus you know what they say, "Drama + TV = $$$." Okay I might've made that up, but just think about it. The best shows on TV are just a miss-mosh of relationships/dating, jealousy, and drama. Hello, have you heard of Bachelor in Paradise?

What do I think will happen to the show now that T.I. and Tiny are having relationship issues? It just might be a different type of Family Hustle, so to speak. Here are three possible outcomes.

T.I. & TINY: THE FAMILY HUSTLE STAYS EXACTLY THE SAME

The show could potentially just stay the same. Despite the fact that T.I. and Tiny are publicly dealing with their marital woes, this may not affect the show at all. Who knows how pervasive these relationship issues may be? The show also has an extremely strong fan base, according to Deadline, who reported a very large amount of viewers for the current fourth season, saying, "Family Hustle is one of VH1 strongest unscripted series, with its current fourth season opening to 2.24 million viewers and 1.53 million adults 18-49 in April." It would be a dumb move on VH1's part to try to cancel a good thing.

T.I. & TINY MORPHS INTO A NEW SHOW

The show could potentially stay T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, but maybe the two would lead separate lives. It may address the couple's relationship issues, which would add an interesting human element to the series. T.I. and Tiny seem like an ideal couple they've been together for years —and now they have the chance to show fans what's been going on in their relationship and how they're dealing with it.

SPINOFFS

It seems Tiny may be carving out a little slice of reality TV goodness for herself. VH1 greenlit a series surrounding Tiny and her BFF Shekinah's innovative mobile hair salon in LA. According to Deadline, the show will be called Weave Trip and it will have an eight-episode run, reporting, "The duo decide to open a mobile hair salon in Los Angeles and get a salon truck built in their hometown of Atlanta... I hear Weave Trip, said to be in the vein of The Simple Life, is slated to air in October, following the conclusion of Family Hustle’s fourth season."

So we're getting a whole new VH1 reality series about Tiny this fall? For fans like me, it feels like Christmas is coming in October.
