What Is 'RHONY' Alex McCord Up To? Pretty Much Burning Every Bridge She Has with Bravo

Once upon a time, former cast member Alex McCord was many things to Real Housewives of New York City . She was the romantic intellectual, with her children's French names, their French speaking, their French-Caribbean island getaways. She was a confidante for Ramona, Jill, and Bethenny, depending on the season. She was basically the Miranda of the group, what with her Brooklyn residence, red hair, and supportiveness to the point of mania.

And, of course, she had the bizarre, late-in-life desire to model, most memorably for master photographer Kelly Killoren Bensimon. (Will RHONY ever surpass the greatness of Season 4? It seems impossible.) But if you're curious what she and her husband, Simon van Kempen, have been up to, look no further.

Running a Web Series

Alex still has a hankering for the drama of the Real Housewives, judging by her webseries, The Real Deal with Alex McCord, where she gives her opinion on the latest RH news from all of the different franchises, and then gives her best impression of what’s going on behind the scenes based on her experience from four seasons on RHONY.

Collecting Cable Ratings

Simon has left behind his luxury hotelier career to be a ”social media junkie & ratings guru“ for CableRatings.tv and BravoRatings.com, two sites that collect and analyze Nielson ratings.

Designing Cookware

In addition to her videos, Alex represents a line of cookware called The Kind Kitchen. The products are sold through Amazon, but they manufacture the products themselves.

Not Updating Their Blog

They haven’t updated their join website/blog since their appearance on Couples Therapy in 2012.

Appearing on 'Couples Therapy'

Their attitude towards their stint on Couples Therapy is a little atypical, more interested is unpacking the experience of taping reality TV rather than the problems that supposedly arose in their very close relationship.

Hopefully Staying Off of 'RHONY'

While those first four seasons of Real Housewives of New York City were amazing, and the rumored return of Bethenny Frankel can spur cravings for the rest of the ladies to come back to their old stomping grounds, both Alex and Simon seem too addicted to analyzing the artifice of reality TV to actually be good participants or stars — and I doubt Bravo would be very happy about that.
