The new season of Girls isn't set to premiere on HBO until 2014, but it looks like the promotional material is finally beginning to roll out — well, kind of. Despite the fact that you've waited months for new footage from the next season of the HBO hit, we have to be the bearer of bad news: There are actually no real clips from the third season present in this 30-second trailer.
But! There is some good news too: This teaser is actually made up of countless Instagrammed shots of the cast behind-the-scenes, frolicking on the beach, and laughing, set to Robert ToTeras' very upbeat track "Break Out the Boom-Boom." So, we're thinking we can call this one a wash because it's giving us a tiny sliver of hope that maybe the girls of Girls (plus Adam, Ray, and Elijah!) will look a little happier next season, and not like they've just been forced to watch the "Red Wedding" episode of Game of Thrones on loop for two days straight.
Watch the Season 3 teaser below, and look forward to the day next year when we can finally start hanging out with Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, and the rest of our venerable cast of Girls.
