Olaf Is Still Getting Zero 'OUAT' Love

Ever since news broke that Once Upon a Time is adapting Frozen in Season 4, fans have been racking their brains with theories as to what this latest plot twist will involve. Some have speculated that Elizabeth Mitchell could be Elsa and Anna's long-lost mother, while offers have spent their time worrying about the fate of Anna and Kristoff's relationship. This is all well and good, HOWEVER, let's not overlook the most chilling detail of them all — the fact that our dear Olaf will not be appearing at all on OUAT . I mean, I understand that producing a walking/talking snowman would probably be a little complicated to do on a non-animated show (or maybe not — this is not my area of expertise), but still! He was such an integral part of what made Frozen so great. Nevertheless, I have since learned to get over my disappointment in this one very flawed detail and move on with my life… until recently, that is.

A newly released synopsis for Once Upon a Time 's Season 4 premiere has revealed that Elsa will find herself fearful of Storybrooke's residents and end up creating a "snow monster" to protect herself. That's right, folks — there actually is going to be a snow creature of sorts on OUAT, but, once again, it is not going to be Olaf. (Seriously, how is this happening?) And I can only assume it's going to look something like this guy…

I mean… really? Sven and a snow monster can make it into this adaption, but an Olaf sighting is out of the question?!?! This is not OK! I am outraged on behalf of Frozen fans everywhere. To not want to bring a ton of CGI snow animation into the picture is one thing, but to completely forgo the use of such a beloved character in lieu of a random creature no one even cares about feels a bit foolish. Olaf would've brought such a "cool" aspect to the story arc.

But alas, I guess it's just not meant to be. And since I'm admittedly still looking forward to this upcoming season regardless, I'm sure my current anger and frustration will inevitably subside over time. I'll just have to take a hand out of Frozen's book and simply let it go. However, in the meantime, let's all just take a minute to give Olaf the spotlight he so truly deserves. You will be missed, little buddy!

A scared and confused Elsa finds herself in Storybrooke and, fearful of the intentions of its residents, creates a powerful snow monster for protection. With Robin Hood's wife, Marian, back in the picture, Regina wonders if her "happily ever after" with the former thief has been completely quashed; while on their honeymoon, Mr. Gold finds an intriguing object that makes him question whether or not he should officially give Belle control over the dagger that makes him The Dark One, and Hook is dismayed to discover that Emma seems to be avoiding him while she tries to help comfort Regina after being the one responsible for bringing Marian back from the past and into Storybrooke. Meanwhile, in Arendelle of the past, as Elsa's sister Anna's wedding to Kristoff nears, Anna discovers that their parents - who died on-ship during a violent storm - were heading to a mysterious destination in a quest that may have held the secret to containing Elsa's out of control Ice powers. And against Elsa's wishes, Anna wants to finish their journey to find out what they were looking for.
