Get Luscious Locks Like These NYFW Models

by Tyler Atwood

You simply know a look is going to be iconic when the name "Lauren Bacall" is thrown around as inspiration, but the finished product at Naeem Khan's Spring/Summer 2015 runway was timeless and modern all at once. Khan's collection returned to the designer's core focus on sultry femininity, with sheer panelling, lace, subtle florals, and embroidery combined to theatrical effect in the collection. Metallics and jewel tones including gold, orchid, and canary yellow nudged the collection from simply beautiful to breathtaking.

In order to properly frame the collection, lead stylist Sally Hershberger looked to Golden Age Hollywood for inspiration but soon became intrigued by the notion of modernizing and softening the look. Using a mixture of Sally Hershberger's Shagg Style Primer and Caffeine For Major Volume Body Volumizing Spray, stylists gave Khan's runway models a glossy yet undone blowout with light, bouncy curls, or as one stylist put it, "modern, soft waves with flyaways". After curling small, two to three inch sections, each was pinned to the model's head in order to set the curls. After it cooled, hair was let down misted with the Caffeine spray to add a bit of seductive, messy edge to the look.

So even if you can't afford Naeem Khan's iconic looks, you can easily channel the designer's luxurious blowout for Spring 2015. And really, who doesn't look infinitely more glamorous with beautifully styled hair?
