Your 'Frozen' Wedding Dreams Are Coming True

by Erin Mayer

Just when I thought we might have let it go — "it" being fever-pitched Frozen obsession — Disney goes and decides to release a Frozen -themed wedding dress based on Elsa's looks from the film. I guess Frozen madness isn't over just yet. Le sigh. Well, at least the dress is bound to be cold as ice, am I right? (Sorry). All Disney-obsessed brides, cancel your Kleinfelds appointments!

The princess-worthy gown was created by Michele Piccione, Chief Creative Officer of bridal label Alfred Angelo, in conjunction with Disney Consumer Products. There is also a rumored Anna-themed gown in the works as well. Both designs will be part of Alfred Angelo's existing Disney Fairy Tale Bridal collection. Piccione told In Style, "A character like Elsa is a huge inspiration for any designer. She is beautiful and elegant, and her inner beauty shines through when she is ultimately not afraid to embrace who she is with confidence and poise.” Doesn't every bride want to be described that way?

Piccione was inspired by the famous "Let It Go" moment of the film when Elsa decides to embrace her icy touch. According to In Style, the "result is an ice blue softly-flared sheath gown with a sweetheart neckline made with layers of satin, tulle, glitter net and organza." Sounds like traditional bridal fare with a Disney-influenced twist.

No judgment if this is your thing, but I've never really understood the impulse to feel like a Disney princess on your wedding day. If there's any pop culture influence I'm going for with my wedding dress, it will be Carrie Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan from Baz Lurhman's version of Gatsby. That girl might have been basic as hell, but she had style.

However, if your heart is beating double time at the thought of getting married Elsa-style, good news! The Elsa dress comes out in January 2015. Go build a snowman while you wait.
