17 Celebrity Couples Who Co-Starred In Music Videos Together

If you're dating a musical artist, it's only natural for them to cozy up to a partner or two in their music videos. Some celebrities have decided to combine work and pleasure by having their significant others join them as their co-stars in their own music videos. While some of these couples are still making beautiful music together (at least, metaphorically speaking) other celebrity music video co-stars didn't survive. Luckily for us, the celebrities who parted ways will always be a couple in their 3-minute long music videos. Check out the 17 couples who shared the screen in a music video.

Beyonce & Jay Z

Beyonce and Jay Z — who just reportedly just renewed their wedding vows, take that divorce rumors — starred together in the “Crazy In Love” music video in 2003. In 2013 Bey and Jay teamed up again for “Drunk In Love,” which features the couple getting sloshed on the beach. Stars: they’re just like us!

Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey

The music video for “Sweetest Sin,” which came out in 2003, is awfully embarrassing. It stars then-married couple Lachey and Simpson as Simpson talks about losing her virginity the former 98 Degree singer. It’s cringeworthy. Truly, truly cringeworthy. And not their only attempt at awkward videos: They also starred together in the video for Simpson’s song “Where Are You?”

Travis McCoy & Katy Perry

The one-time couple starred in the Gym Class Heroes’ music video for “Cupid’s Chokehod.” McCoy and Perry split in 2009, after more than three years together. Neither have nice things to say about the other.

Candica Accola & Joe King

Vampire Diaries’ star Accola joined her fiance, The Fray guitarist King, in the 2014 music video for “Love Don’t Die.” In the video, King punches a guy harassing Accola in the face, starting a huge bar brawl… and gets a kiss from his fiance as a thank you.

Selena Gomez & Nick Jonas

Before Gomez was Bieber’s girl, she used to date Nick Jonas. The two starred in the music video for The Jonas Brothers’ “Burnin’ Up.”

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West

Kimye’s music video for West’s 2013 song “Bound 2” really must be seen to be believed. So. Much. Green screen.

Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck

Lopez and Affleck dated for 18 months before splitting up in 2004. The paparazzi was obsessed with Bennifer (the first one, less so with Affleck and now-wife Jennifer Garner) and Lopez’s “Jenny From the Block” video chronicled their intrusion in their lives.

Usher & Chilli

Usher dated TLC’s Chilli for two years before splitting in 2003. They co-starred in two of Usher’s music videos — “U Got It Bad” (pictured above) and “U Remind Me.”

Katy Perry & John Mayer

Perry should probably learn that it’s bad luck to co-star in videos with your boyfriends, because she and Mayer famously broke up after recording their 2013 duet “Who You Love.” The parts of the video that aren’t Perry and Mayer making googly eyes at one another are slow-motioned videos of people riding bulls.

John Legend & Chrissy Teigen

The singer married model Teigen in 2013. She reportedly cried tears of happiness when Legend played the song “All of Me” for her, which is why she agreed to star in the sexy-as-hell music video alongside her hubby.

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon

The recently divorced couple were open with their then-love in Mariah Carey’s 2011 video for “Love Story.”

Seal & Heidi Klum

Another divorced couple who once starred in a steamy music video together. Seal and his then-wife, Heidi Klum, starred in Seal’s music video for his 2010 song “Secrets.”

Britney Spears & Jason Trawick

Spears and her former agent Trawick dated for three years before breaking up in 2013. Before the couple split they starred in the Bonnie & Clyde-esque video for Spears’ song “Criminal” in 2011.

Lady Gaga & Taylor Kinney

Lady Gaga met her Chicago Fire -star boyfriend on the set of her 2011 music video her song “You & I.” They have been together ever since. I wonder if Kinney has any idea what’s happening in the video that united him and his pop star girlfriend… because I have no idea.

Jason Derulo & Jordin Sparks

Derulo and Sparks are so in love, it’s ridiculous. The pair — who have been together for over two years — recently co-starred in Derulo’s music video for his song “Marry Me.” Was that a hint that these two are secretly engaged? Their staying mum on the subject.

Pink & Carey Hart

Pink asked her husband (whom she was separated from at the time) to co-star in her 2008 video for her song “So What,” which basically called her then-ex a tool. They got back together 11 months after their initial split, and have stayed together since — and went to co-star in Pink’s music video for “True Love” — with their daughter, Willow. Aww!

Robin Thicke & Paula Patton

Pre-Blurred Lines, Thicke put out this song “Lost Without U,” and had his wife, Patton, co-star in the music video. Five years later, Thicke now claims that he is “lost without” his wife, who left him in late 2013.
