Long Hair Is Out, And These Ladies Show Us Why We Need To Embrace Shorter Hair

I had a hair appointment last week, and when I sat down in the stylist's chair, he took one look at my long, wavy locks and shook his head. "Long hair is out." Ouch. "What you need is a long bob," he told me. Whoa, whoa. Let's not get scissor-happy here. My hair is like my safety net, there's just no way. So I left with a healthy trim, and a big sigh of relief. But I can't deny, while perusing the internet, thumbing through my September issues, and flipping TV channels, it's true — long is out, short is in.

And it might be for good reason. It's low maintenance, requires less styling time, and looks fresh and modern. So whether you are like me and contemplating taking the plunge, or have already embraced the new it style, let's all take a moment to admire the ladies who rock the cropped cut — no safety net needed.
