Why Miranda Kerr Only Walks in PFW Shows

by Alexa Tucker

Because we're so used to seeing Miranda Kerr posing in Victoria's Secret skivvies, it's easy to forget she's a fashion model as well. Kerr made an appearance on the Sonia Rykiel runway this afternoon, reminding us that she looks pretty good in clothes, too.

Although she has a vast print campaign repertoire including Bally, Swarovski, H&M, and Mango, her catwalk career hasn't been going on as long as you may have thought. Her first high-fashion runway show (excluding Victoria's Secret's annual event) was Balenciaga's Paris Fashion Week show in 2010 -- She modeled the fashion house's Spring/Summer 2011 collection while she was five months pregnant. How's that for a Fashion Week debut?

Kerr must have a soft spot for Paris Fashion Week, because she's seemed to gravitate toward it ever since. With the exception of Prada's Fall/Winter 2010 showing in Milan, Kerr has done all of her high-fashion modeling in the city of lights. Although she's only four seasons into participating in Fashion Month madness, I love that she's keeping it exclusive right now -- très chic. Here are some of the reasons Miranda might be confining her talents to PFW (for now).

1. She was carrying Flynn during her first runway show.

A visibly pregnant model in a high-fashion show? Kerr had just broken some major boundaries when this photo was taken after her debut. (P.S. heart is breaking over here because Orlando. Le sigh.)

2. Her son is precious in his Parisian-inspired stripes...

Such a little francophile. Probably because, technically, he walked the PFW runway too. #fashionmeetsscience

3. ...And she looks fab in 'em, too.

She may be Australian, but Miranda just might have captured the elusive French style.

3. The French love lingerie. And Miranda happens to look pretty good in it.

I mean, she's alright.

4. Paris is a dream for fresh flower fanatics, which we know Miranda is.

Peonies are her fave. (I bet she didn't even use a filter.)

5. Miranda's hat game is always on point.

So perfect for an afternoon stroll along the Seine. Miranda's got French street style nailed. (Also, another appearance by Flynn. Insert hearts-for-eyes emojis here.)

6. She just straight-up loves Paris.

Me and you, Miranda. Me and You.
