This TLC Biopic Trailer Will Make You Nostalgic

by Alanna Bennett

They taught you the true meaning of the word scrub. They warned you against chasing waterfalls. Their songs were full of wisdom, and their lives full of draaahhhmmaaa. It's the story of American '90s girl group TLC, and it's coming to VH1, courtesy of a Lifetime-esque original movie about the life and struggles of the group and its members.

Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story stars Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee, True Jackson VP) as Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, Rochelle Aytes (Mistresses) as Perri "Pebbles" Reid, Drew Sidora as Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, and Lil Mama as Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.

Named after their second album, the film promises to explore "The story of Legendary hip hop/r&b/pop trio TLC," and so will probably feature a lot about the story of how the girls went broke despite their huge record sales. We're assuming there will also be a ton of music video reenactments and a ton of Girl Power. Given the tragic end Left Eye met in a car accident in April of 2002, it'll probably also involve some tears.

In the meantime, we have this teaser trailer to nurse our nostalgia. It's kind of nice to have "Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls" stuck in our heads again.
