Nicki Minaj Rocks a Short Bob in L'Uomo Vogue

by Rikki Byrd

Nicki Minaj could very well be considered a whiz when it comes to style transformations. You don't have to be a fan to draft an image of Nicki's self-proclamation of being a Barbie. She once unapologetically taunted the most brilliant of bubble gum-colored wigs, long blonde manes and teased pony tails. Most recently, she's transitioned into rocking her natural hair color and subtler looks on the red carpet. Even more recently, with the release of the cover art for her single "Anaconda," Minaj bared it all, as she dropped it like it was more than hot in Jordan sneakers. Now, the hip hop artist is channeling her masculine side on the pages of L'Uomo Vogue .

The black-and-white fashion spread in VOGUE Italia's men's magazine was shot by Francesco Carrozzini, and although fans are in a frenzy over the released photos, the publication itself hasn't said much about the upcoming issue. Minaj is all covered up, aside from a slight peek of cleavage that hides under a white shirt and tie, and dons a chic black bob that's completely opposite of her almost hip-touching hairstyles that she's known to wear. In belted suit jackets with matching pants, the rapper is not only fierce and chic beyond belief, she is also undoubtedly on-trend, let this month's fashion shows tell it.

Chanel's recent Paris show–which rendered the chicest girl power that has ever touched down on a runway–featured Cara Delevingne in a boxy tweed suit as she held on to a briefcase. Bottega Veneta provided a workwear-worthy collection in Milan, also featuring a sleek black boxy suit, alongside it's belted jackets, shirts and baggy pants. Paul Smith striped it out in London with loose bermuda shorts and long vests. Theory kept it clean and simple in New York with cranberry matching vests and pants and slouchy all-white suits.

Despite being on-trend, Minaj seems to always be in the market for a style change. If she ever wants to reclaim her Barbie days, though, Moschino most definitely will have her covered. Check out Minaj channeling spring/summer 2015's much-anticipated menswear trend.
