Alexa Chung Has A Cool New Gig

by Tyler Atwood

Collaborations between women of style and chic fashion houses are a dime a dozen, but every once in awhile, a fresh union comes about that's too exciting not to freak out about a little. Women's Wear Daily broke the news that Alexa Chung's fashionable insights will now become a part of Tommy Hilfiger's latest brand initiative.

The British television personality and model will serve as a Hilfiger tastemaker, selecting the most enticing pieces in Hilfiger's collection which appeal to Chung's au courant style on a monthly basis. With her signature tousled locks, her love of high-low ensembles, and her innately insouciant style, Chung seems an unexpected choice for the typically preppy Hilfiger. After all, the company's last celebrity partnership involved the adorkable Zooey Deschanel and a collection that could only be described as twee.

However, perhaps a bit of Chung's edgier style is exactly what Hilfiger needs to stay current with the youth culture the brand pursues. Chung's October picks for the brand couldn't be labeled overtly saccharine or safe in the slightest, ranging from patent color blocked loafers to a chambray button down and a cozy, checkered wool coat. So if you're searching for new fall favorites to spice up your wardrobe this autumn, scroll through Alexa Chung's selections on Hilfiger's website for a bit of sartorial inspiration.
