Gisele Bundchen Teases Her Chanel No. 5 Campaign

by Alexa Tucker

Brazilian Bombshell Gisele Bündchen teased her Chanel No. 5 campaign with a photo on Instagram yesterday, and I gotta say, it wasn't what I was expecting. In the pic, Gisele is running on a stretch of perfectly white sand, her famous beachy waves trailing behind her. She's holding a surfboard monogrammed with the Chanel's signature intertwined C's, and it looks like she's wearing a navy sweater with white trim. (I assume she is also wearing bikini bottoms.)

Chanel is known for its classic ads, often utilizing black and white images and classic glamour, so the beach setting is a bit out of left field. Especially considering it's being directed by Baz Luhrmann, whose film credits include Moulin Rouge! and The Great Gatsby, both of which involved fantastical settings and costumes. When Gisele was announced as the face of the fragrance in May, I pictured the campaign being a little more glitzy-chic, but from the looks of it, it might be the total opposite.

Gisele joins the likes of some other pretty amazing figures who have represented Chanel No. 5, including Marilyn Monroe, Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou, and most recently, Brad Pitt (yeah, that was weird.)

My biggest question, though: if the lucky lady of Tom Brady actually does surf in the campaign (let's face it, she probably can, and she's probably amazing at it,) how will her perfume stay on? Maybe Chanel is announcing they've concocted a new groundbreaking formula that makes the scent waterproof. (Maybe in the beautiful future, that'll actually be a thing. Fingers crossed.)

Yükleniyor So excited to introduce a behind the scene picture of my next campaign for @chanelofficial. #chaneln5 #theonethatiwant ✨😄🌟 Muito feliz em mostrar a primeira foto dos bastidores da minha próxima campanha para @Chanelofficial.
