'Big Brother': Zingbot zinged WHAT?!

by Henning Fog

Plenty of stuff happened on this week's Power of Veto episode! Realizing that their positions in the house were tenuous, Andy and Ginamarie attempted to cozy up to HOH Elissa. Amanda, full of piss and vinegar, eked out a victory -- her first of the season -- that squashed Elissa's attempts to backdoor her. Amanda, again, went absolutely bonkers and spent 5-10 minutes harassing Elissa from outside her door. MCrae was spare the chopping block by his girlfriend. Things seemed primed to explode with the next elimination.

But we're not here today to talk about ANY of that. No, something bigger took place last night, an event Big Brother fans of all shapes and sizes look forward to with an enthusiasm usually reserved for Santa, or wing night. That's right -- ZINGBOT IS BACK. And boy did he come ready to play.

To McCrae: "I finally understand why you're always wearing shorts. Because Amanda wears the pants. ZING. ZING." McCrae said "it didn't bother me at all," that he totally agreed with Zingbot's sartorial assessment. Meanwhile this is the funniest thing GinaMarie has ever heard in her life, and she nearly dies crazily slapping her hand against the table.

Luckily Zingbot hit GM before she lost control completely. "Nick says since meeting you he feels like he's been swept away into a classic cinematic love story: Fatal Attraction." GM, who is either in love with this weird running joke she's devised for herself or is legitimately a crazy person, seemed to take it in stride. "Zingbot, come on! You know I'd never harm a hair on Nick's head. Unless I found out he was married or something."

Next was Andy: "I think there's a ghost in the Big Brother house. It has a high-pitched wail, it's pasty-white, and it loves to float. Oh wait -- that's just Andy! ZING." Obviously the word "floater" carries its own meaning on the show, otherwise Zingbot basically just said OMG ANDY UR SO GAY! Though it was actually the former definition that got to him. "The fact that Singbot calls me a floater…enrages me." Tough room!

Aaryn: "Some may say you were acting mean and nasty in the beginning of this game. But I disagree. That wasn't acting! ZING."

Elissa: "I hear you like to impersonate me. But I think you're much better at being a cheap imitation of your sister. ZING." "No way."

And finally, Zingbot made his way to nutjob-in-residence Amanda. "Don't worry, you can visit McCrae in Minnesota. Just mail yourself using your giant tramp stamp. ZING." Oh boy -- the room loves this one. Direct hit, Zingbot!

On top of his official round of Zings, our robot friend also presided over the POV competition, the loose framework of which was a birthday party for Zingbot's 1-year-old baby. "Is this a surprise party or an ugly party?"

Our hope going forward, naturally, is that Big Brother's producers realize what they have going and just instate Zingbot as an official houseguest, or at least permanent non-competitive resident. It's so important to be able to laugh at yourself every now and again.
