This Is One Way to Meet Your Favorite Singer

It's no secret that Miley Cyrus has a strong following (whether that be from her fans or her haters), but one particular follower went above and beyond to meet his favorite star. I know it's October, which means Halloween is right around the corner aka it's time to figure out your costume, but that doesn't mean you should put on someone else's work clothes to meet someone. Well, crazed superfan Anthony Skinner did just that to meet Miley Cyrus.

Last Friday at Cyrus' concert in Sydney, Australia, Skinner was hanging out in the Allphones Arena parking lot, where he discovered an opened custodian's storeroom door. He revealed the details to BBC Newsbeat saying, "I looked around and on the floor there's a pair of boots, and on the couch there's this hi-vis vest. My mindset was 'See how far you can take this.' It wasn't planned at all. Everything just fell into place so perfectly."

Obviously, the logical thing to do was put on the neon vest and pretend to clean. Skinner took it one step further and actually emptied bins and swept the floor for 40 minutes, all while telling himself to "play it cool."

Apparently, not one staff member or security guard noticed him. His undercover operation panned out, and he did indeed get to see Cyrus. As she was on her way out of the venue, a security guard told Skinner to stand in the doorway. Oh, don't worry about what happened next, because Cyrus reportedly looked right at Skinner and gave him a smile.

Of course, Skinner couldn't leave without gifting Cyrus with "pretty much [his] favorite jacket of all time." Supposedly, a tour member promised to give it to Cyrus. He's not even sad that he didn't get to meet her: "If I did actually meet her I wouldn't have anything left to do. I'd have to come up with a whole new goal."

Look, I'm all about supporting my favorite singers, actors and actresses, but this is going a bit too far. At least Skinner admits he would probably stay from himself too if he were Cyrus, "I probably wouldn't call me."
